At our November meeting, Cheryl, our Horticulture Chair, demonstrated how to easily and inexpensively grow Paperwhite flowers in our own home. All you need are Paperwhite bulbs, pebbles and a container. Place pebbles and water in a container with bulbs on top. Place in a dark area for one week. Roots will grow and the bulb will sprout. Bring container to a brighter area a wait for bloom. It is not necessary to buy a special containter, you can use a canning jar, terra cotta disch, or old silver tray that you have around the house.
