Wheaton Garden Club is a group of women who meet once a month on a Thursday afternoon to share our love of plants and learn more about them. We’re currently looking for new members who share our passion.
We meet on the second Thursday each month, Sept. through June, at 12:30 until approximately 3:00 or 3:30. Our meetings consist of a short business meeting followed by a program about gardening or floral design, and ends with a tea and a social time. Typically we have 20-30 members in the club.
What is expected of Wheaton Garden Club members? An active interest in gardening, but you are not expected to be an expert, just eager to learn and share ideas and experiences. Also a willingness to participate regularly in club activities and attend monthly meeting. We hold an annual plant sale, provide floral arrangements on a weekly basis to the Wheaton Public Library, and hold a flower show every two years. Annual dues are $40, and there is a one time initiation fee of $10..
We hope you will consider joining us! You will make new friends, learn new things, become a better and “greener” gardener, and help make our community a more beautiful place to live! Please send us an email at [email protected] and one of our members will contact you and answer any questions you have.
